the plan was to fly down to new orleans for valentine's day and stay through mardi gras. then the snow hit and my flight was cancelled. it was frustrating since i had dragged my suitcase on the subway and bus to school since i was supposed to head out from school directly to the airport. also, i had not brought my winter jacket since i thought i wasn't really going to be outside that much. an all day scramble for another (affordable) flight, finally, at 8 p.m., yielded results. so i fly out today instead of yesterday. there were three big events this weekend that i wanted to get to, only one of which i could really do another weekend: my interview (the one that could be rescheduled), v-day, and mardi gras. so v-day will just be delayed and mardi gras is still happening. oh and the interview was successfully rescheduled. i'm just glad everything worked out because i would have been really bummed if i couldn't go this weekend.

i was calm about things, understood the reality of the situation, that flights on tues AND wed were cancelled and no new flights added. that it was mardi gras so new orleans was a popular destination. that it was president's weekend, so that also made it a popular time to travel. but yeah everything worked out and i'll be there this evening. :)
