Today on the bus there was a sign that said it is official remember Rosa Parks day, so in her honor us bus riders were supposed to leave a seat empty for her. Well guess what didn't happen. This photo was actually next to the seat that was supposed to be left open. So even with a photo of Rosa sitting in the seat reserved for her, someone was unwilling to honor Rosa's memory. Where is our sense of history and appreciation for those who took a stand, for those who were willing to sacrifice their freedom so that other people would have some? I mean giving up a bus seat for a day isn't the end of the world, at least not when it has such symbolic meaning behind it.
