lots going on right now. not much i want to go into detail about. basically i'm single now. and no i don't want to discuss it (not to sound mean but i just need to figure things out on my own for awhile). all this stuff is so new to me. i feel like such a late bloomer in this relationship stuff. i mean i haven't really had the experience before now of all the good and bad things that come with relationships and it's weird to be dealing with that at age 23 when other people got over this stuff in high school.
shannan (from berkeley) was in town this weekend. i met up with her thursday afternoon and we had a really great afternoon conversation over falafels from mamouns. we talked about everything and it felt nice to really be on the same page with someone about these things. i was saying that i don't try to put MYSELF in other people's shoes because that's like me saying "if i were you, i'd do this." and i'm not them so what's it matter. i try to see things through other people's eyes, and i think that is a key difference between the way we perceive each other. don't look at some past event that happened to someone else and think of how you would handle it. think if you were that person in that exact situation how you would see things. then maybe you can understand them better and not just judge or whatever to them for stuff that happened in the past.
last night i went out for lauren's birthday to divine bar. it's a wine and tapas bar. it was amazing. the food and drinks were great. you could get these wine tasters where you got 4 or 5 wines that were similar in vein (like international whites for example) and could taste them all to see what you liked better. we all definitely had a good time, and i definitely needed to get out of my apartment.
