so for lack of better phrasology, tulane rocks. everything here is better then st. john's. except my friends of course! i miss you guys!
some initial thoughts:
- the chairs - they are on rollers, then lean forward and backwards, unlike the st. john's ones that squeak and are a set distance from the desk, meaning that i have to hunch over to get close to the desk.
- the food and the coffee - well since anything is better then the coffee at the st. john's law cafe this isn't so hard to meet.
- the students - everyone is so friendly and helpful here. people who sit next to me in class introduce themselves and offer to help me with stuff like getting internet access or a locker.
- the administration - they knew me by name when i walked in. they had a welcome packet for me and offered a personal tour.
- the professors - the first class i had the prof goes "i don't take roll, i don't care about that stuff." then he goes "i don't lecture, that's a waste of both of our times."
- the temperature - unlike st. john's which is freezing indoors during summer and like a sauna during winter, tulane has managed to regulate the temperature perfectly where it is simply room temperature at all times. now, that wasn't so hard, was it?
- oh yeah, and free liquor events, LOTS of them!
:)

WOW, UH is NOT like that at all. They don't even have a caf in the law school - they have a SUBWAY, and that's IT. Coffee (not that I drink it, but FYI) is out of a MACHINE.
The kids are JUST like the ones at St. John's, sans the gross LI accents. But also, I really don't care to make friends bc I'm at home, it'd probably be diff if it was a new city all together.

Oh and the law school here literally looks like a DUNGEON. Seriously. And it's set up really weird, too, like split between two connected buildings and you have to go through rooms to get to your classroom.
