Ok so I was told today that if I get mad at someone I never forget it, that I have this sort of Italian sense of vendetta (do you think my Italian fetish has something to do with this?). So I never thought I was too extreme or anything, but if a close friend lies to me about something important or intentionally hides something from me that affects my life directly then its hard to simply let it go and completely trust them again knowing they consciously betrayed me...I mean if you let a cheating spouse slide odds are its going to happen again because of the lack of consequences for his/her actions. Then again, it all depends on the situation at hand...its hard to make generalizations about this...
